Auxiliary Water Pump - Disassemble

Usage:

C1.5 TAF

Disassembly Procedure

Start By:

  1. Remove the auxiliary water pump. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Auxiliary Water Pump - Remove".


NOTICE

Keep all parts clean from contaminants.

Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.



NOTICE

Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.

Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Caterpillar Tools and Shop Products Guide" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Caterpillar products.

Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.

  1. Remove nut (5), washer (10), gear (13), retaining ring (14), and bearing (16) from shaft (22) .

  1. Remove key (11) from shaft (22) .

  1. Remove bolts (15), cover (8), O-ring seal (7), and seal (6). Remove impeller (4) .

  1. Remove screw (12), cam (1), and pin (9). Remove wear plate (2) from shaft (22) .

  1. Remove shaft (22) from housing (3) .

  1. Remove retaining ring (17), washer (18), and seal (19) from shaft (22) .

  1. Remove seal (20) and bearing (21) from shaft (22) .
