Removal Procedure

Start By:

1. Remove the turbochargers. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Turbocharger - Remove".

1. Remove bolts (1) .

2. Remove bolts (2) from exhaust manifold (3) .

3. Remove mounting plate (5) , if necessary.

4. Attach a suitable lifting device to exhaust manifold (3) . The weight of exhaust manifold (3) is approximately 34 kg (75 lb).

5. Remove nuts (4) , the spacers, and exhaust manifold (3) .

1. Attach a suitable lifting device to exhaust manifold (3) . The weight of exhaust manifold (3) is approximately 34 kg (75 lb).

2. Apply Tooling (A) to all bolts, studs, and nuts.

3. Position exhaust manifold (3) onto the engine.

Note: Discard the nuts after use. Use new nuts for installation.

4. Install the spacers and nuts (4) .

5. Tighten nuts (4) in a numerical sequence to a torque of 38 ± 5 N·m (28 ± 4 lb ft).

6. Install mounting plate (5) , if necessary.

8. Install bolts (1) .

End By: Install the turbochargers. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Turbocharger - Install".
