"ETHER INJECTION" Switch
"ETHER INJECTION" Switch (1) is a two-position toggle switch. The ON position will momentarily establish contact. Moving the switch to the ON position will inject ether into the deck engine's fuel system. The deck engine's coolant temperature must be below 10 °C (50 °F) in order to inject ether into the deck engine's fuel system.
"MAIN POWER DISCONNECT" Switch
"MAIN POWER DISCONNECT" Switch (2) is a two-position toggle switch. The switch controls the power to the electrical system.
Service Hour Meter
Service Hour Meter (3) indicates the total operating hours of the deck engine. Use the display to determine the service hour maintenance intervals.
"FLOOD LAMP" Switch (Front)
"FLOOD LAMP" Switch (Front) (4) is a two-position toggle switch. The switch controls the floodlights that are located on the front of the pumper.
"FLOOD LAMP" Switch (Rear)
"FLOOD LAMP" Switch (Rear) (5) is a two-position toggle switch. The switch controls the floodlights that are located on the rear of the pumper.
"WARNING" Light
"WARNING" Light (6) is an incandescent red light. The light indicates a fault condition of the deck engine. The Caterpillar Electronic Technician (ET) can be used to troubleshoot problems that are related to the deck engine. Refer to Troubleshooting for additional information.
"PUMP STROKE" Counter
"PUMP STROKE" Counter (7) provides a running total of pump strokes for pump life recording and determination of pump packing replacement intervals.
"FUEL CUTOFF SWITCH"
"FUEL CUTOFF SWITCH" (8) is a two-position toggle switch. Operation of the switch will immediately shut off the fuel supply to the deck engine. This will result in a shutdown of the system. To activate the switch, the red switch guard must be lifted. The switch must then be moved to the opposite keyway. A switch guard is necessary in order to prevent an accidental shutdown.
Remote Cable Connector
Remote Cable Connector (9) is a connector that connects to one end of the 38 m (125 ft) remote control cable. The other end of the cable connects to the Universal Remote Control Console.
"DECK ENGINE CONTROL MODE" Switch
"DECK ENGINE CONTROL MODE" Switch (10) is a two-position toggle switch. When the switch is moved to the "J-BOX" position, power is switched from the Universal Remote Control Console (URCC) to the "DECK ENGINE CONTROL J-BOX DECK ENGINE" Switch. This switch allows the deck engine to run while the truck is being driven.
"DECK ENGINE CONTROL J-BOX DECK ENGINE" Switch
The deck engine can be started without the use of the URCC by using "DECK ENGINE CONTROL J-BOX DECK ENGINE" Switch (11). The "DECK ENGINE CONTROL J-BOX DECK ENGINE" Switch is a three-position toggle switch. The START position will momentarily establish contact. The other two switch positions maintain contact. When the switch is placed in the START position and the switch is held in the START position, the starting system will start the deck engine. If the switch is placed in the "KILL" position, the fuel to the deck engine will be shut off, and the deck engine will shut down.
NOTICE |
---|
This switch controls the deck engine only when the "DECK ENGINE CONTROL MODE" Switch is in the "J-BOX" position. The truck engine must be running at rated speed in order to start the deck engine. |
