Pistons and Connecting Rods - Disassemble
Disassembly Procedure

Start By:
- Remove the Pistons and Connecting Rods. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Pistons and Connecting Rods - Remove".

Keep all parts clean from contaminants. Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life. |
- Remove bearings (3) from the connecting rod and the connecting rod cap.

Note: Do not mismatch components among the piston and rod assemblies.
- Use Tool (A) to remove retaining ring (1) .
- Remove pin (2) and connecting rod (4) from the piston.
- Use Tool (B) to remove piston rings (5) from the piston.

- Separate piston crown (7) from piston skirt (8) .
Note: Piston pin bearing (6) is pushed out of connecting rod (4) during installation of the new bearing. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Pistons and Connecting Rods - Assemble".
