The module is mounted onto a terminal base unit. When a thermocouple module is used, use the proper terminal base unit.

  1. Rotate the key switch (1) clockwise on the terminal base unit (2). Rotate to the position with the number that is for the module that is being used.

    • The thermocouple module requires position 3.

    • The RTD module requires position 3.

    • The analog input module requires position 3.

    • The analog output module requires position 4.

  1. Ensure that the flexbus connector (3) is pushed all the way to the left. This will attach the connector to the adjacent terminal base or terminal adapter. You cannot install the module unless the connector is fully extended.

  1. Check the pins on the bottom of module before installing the module. The pins should be straight so that the pins will align with the female connector on the base.

  1. Position the module (4) so that the alignment bar (5) is aligned with the groove (6) on the terminal base.

  1. Press the module firmly and press the module gently in order to seat the module in the terminal base unit. The module is seated when the latching mechanism (7) is locked into the module.

  1. Repeat the steps in order to install the additional modules.

Terminal Base Installation

  1. Remove the cover plug in the male type connector of the unit.

  1. Check the condition of the pins in the male connector. The pins should be straight.

  1. Position the terminal base on the DIN rail (1) at a slight angle. Place the hook (3) into the right side of the unit to the left.

  1. Ensure that the female flexbus connector (4) is retracted fully into the base unit.

  1. Rotate the terminal base onto the DIN rail. Hook the top of the rail under the lip that is on the rear of the terminal base. Use caution to make sure that the female flexbus connector does not strike any of the pins in the male type connector.

  1. Press the terminal base onto the DIN rail until the base is flush. The locking tab (2) will snap into position. The locking tab will lock the terminal base onto the DIN rail.

  1. Move down the locking tab with a screwdriver if the terminal base is not locked. Press the terminal base until the base is flush with the DIN rail. Release the locking tab in order to lock the base.

  1. Gently push the female flexible connector (4) into the adjacent terminal base in order to complete the connections on the flexbus.

  1. Repeat the steps in order to install the additional terminal bases.
