(4) Cut the seal for valve cover base to the following length. ... 1625.6 ± 6.4 mm (64.00 ± 0.25 inch)
(5) Before installation, coat both ends of the seals with black Loctite 593.

Use the following procedure to install the adapter (6) :
- Lubricate the bore lightly with clean engine oil.
- Lubricate the O-ring seal (7) lightly with clean engine oil.
- Freeze the adapter to at least -18 °C (-0 °F).
- Install the adapter.
