Hydraulic oil is supplied from the host machine through auxiliary hydraulic line (6) .
Oil flows through supply passage (3) to gear motor (1). The oil will cause the motor to rotate. Then, the oil flows from the motor through return passage (3) and return line (7) back to the host machine.
When the supply of hydraulic oil is discontinued from the host machine, the blades will continue to rotate. As the motor turns, a vacuum is created on the supply side of the motor and pressure is created on the return side of the motor.
The oil flows from gear motor (1) to crossover relief valve (5). The oil acts against the force of the spring of crossover relief valve (5). The pressure drop on the supply side and the pressure increase on the return side causes crossover relief valve (5) to open allowing oil flow to the supply side of the motor in order to prevent cavitation.
