Description of Change: A socket setscrew (orifice) for the HEUI oil rail is used in these 3126B Truck Engines. The current socket setscrew (orifice) has dry Loctite that is already applied to the threads of the socket setscrew (orifice) in order to improve assembly procedures. The dry Loctite is used in order to prevent the socket setscrew (orifice) from becoming loose. If the socket setscrew (orifice) loosens, the socket setscrew (orifice) may block an oil passage in the HEUI oil rail. Fuel injector operation can become affected by this condition.
Adaptable To: The current 154-8025 Socket Setscrew (orifice) with dry Loctite is a direct replacement for the former 142-7290 Socket Setscrew (orifice) that does not have dry Loctite. The former 142-7290 Socket Setscrew (orifice) without the dry Loctite has been cancelled. Refer to illustration 1 for the location of the socket setscrew (orifice).

Tighten a new 154-8025 Socket Setscrew (orifice) that has the dry Loctite to a torque of 47 ± 9 N·m (35 ± 7 lb ft).
The 154-8025 Socket Setscrew and the 142-7290 Socket Setscrew (orifice) may be reused. Apply 154-9731 Thread Lock Compound to the threads of the socket setscrew (orifice). Tighten the socket setscrew (orifice) to a torque of 47 ± 9 N·m (35 ± 7 lb ft).
