Vibration Sensor - Remove and Install

Usage:

3512 4DR

Removal Procedure

Start By:

  1. Remove the front housing.


NOTICE

Keep all parts clean from contaminants.

Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.

  1. Remove two bolts and washers (1) in order to remove bracket (2).

  2. Remove bolt (3) and the washer.

  3. Remove bracket (2), the clip, and the sensor as a unit.

  4. Install bolts and washers (1) and (3) into cover (4).

  5. Remove clip (5).

  6. Loosen locknut (6). Unscrew sensor (7) from bracket (2).

Installation Procedure

  1. Install bracket (1).

  2. Screw sensor (2) into bracket (1) until the sensor contacts a tooth of crankshaft gear (3). Then unscrew the sensor for 1/2 ± 1/10 of a turn (180 ± 36 degrees). The correct dimension (A) for the gap between the sensor and the tooth of the crankshaft gear is 0.70 ± 0.14 mm (0.0276 ± 0.0055 inch).

  3. Make sure that sensor (2) does not move when locknut (4) is tightened. Tighten locknut (4) to a torque of 45 ± 7 N·m (33 ± 5 lb ft).

  4. Install connector (5) into clip (6). Install the clip.

End By:

  1. Install the front housing.
