Vibration Sensor - Remove and Install
Start By:
- Remove the front housing.

- Remove two bolts and washers (1) in order to remove bracket (2).
- Remove bolt (3) and the washer.
- Remove bracket (2), the clip, and the sensor as a unit.
- Install bolts and washers (1) and (3) into cover (4).

- Loosen locknut (6). Unscrew sensor (7) from bracket (2).

- Install bracket (1).
- Screw sensor (2) into bracket (1) until the sensor contacts a tooth of crankshaft gear (3). Then unscrew the sensor for 1/2 ± 1/10 of a turn (180 ± 36 degrees). The correct dimension (A) for the gap between the sensor and the tooth of the crankshaft gear is
0.70 ± 0.14 mm (0.0276 ± 0.0055 inch) . - Make sure that sensor (2) does not move when locknut (4) is tightened. Tighten locknut (4) to a torque of
45 ± 7 N·m (33 ± 5 lb ft) .Show/hide tableIllustration 4 g00637379 - Install connector (5) into clip (6). Install the clip.
