Air Screen Housing - Remove and Install

Removal Procedure


NOTICE

Keep all parts clean from contaminants.

Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.

  1. Loosen clamps (1). Remove cover (2) and the gasket for the cover.

  1. Remove the air screen.

  1. Disconnect the electrical connector (not shown) from the rear of the housing.

  1. Loosen clamp (3) .

  1. Attach a suitable strap and a lifting device to the housing. The weight of the housing is approximately 35 kg (77 lb).

  1. Remove bolts and washers (4) that attach the housing to the lower bracket and the upper support.

  1. Remove the housing.

  1. Temporarily cover the air inlet for the turbocharger in order to prevent debris from entering the air inlet.

Installation Procedure


NOTICE

Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.


  1. Ensure that the inside of the housing and the cover are clean.

  1. Attach a suitable strap and a lifting device to the housing. The weight of the housing is approximately 35 kg (77 lb).

  1. Remove the temporary cover from the air inlet for the turbocharger.

  1. Lift the housing into position on the air inlet of the turbocharger. Install bolts and washers (4) that attach the housing to the upper support and the lower bracket.

  1. Install clamp (3) .

  1. Connect the electrical connector (not shown) to the rear of the housing.

    Note: Before installing the air screen, inspect the screen for cleanliness and good condition.

  1. Install the air screen into the housing.

  1. Inspect the gasket of the cover for cleanliness and good condition. Install cover (2) with the gasket. Fasten clamps (1) .
