The left-hand door group may crack on the machines listed above. The failure is being reported on the machines fitted with 7X-7468 Convex Mirror on the 379-3544 Cab Door.

The 7X-7468 Convex Mirror is a part of 480-4244 Mirror Gp. This mirror group is used in the 777E Machines with X-Body configuration.

The crack in the door group may be due to the additional stress from the 7X-7468 Convex Mirror and associated hardware.

Do not operate or work on this product unless you have read and understood the instruction and warnings in the relevant Operation and Maintenance Manuals and relevant service literature. Failure to follow the instructions or heed the warnings could result in injury or death. Proper care is your responsibility.

Caterpillar is aware of this problem, but an interim repair has not been defined.

Remove the 7X-7468 Convex Mirror and associated hardware from the 480-4244 Mirror Gp. Removing this mirror group will not have any major impact on the rear view visibility.

Note: If the crack is noticed in the door group, submit a Cat Dealer Solutions Network (DSN) Product Health service request through your dealer Technical Communicator (TC) for specific repair instructions. When submitting the service request, include the machine serial number, hours, crack location, relevant pictures, and attach a Product Status Report. In the Problem Description, reference this publication number (if required).

1. Remove and discard brace (F), nut (A), two washers (B), bolt (C), clip (E), two bolts (G), and two washers (H).
