Rework Procedures for the Heater Hold Down on Certain Asphalt Pavers and Screeds is Now Available {5701, 7610, 7620}

Description Of Change: The following improvements have been made:

  • New heater design to eliminate water ingression.

  • Improved cable assembly with overmold and hex head connector to eliminate water ingression.

  • New heater hold-downs to improve system IR during screed heat up.

  • New software with changes to ground fault logic.

Follow the instructions in SEHS0522 to update the Generator Power Inverter and Implement Control software. The specific file to be used on the Generator power Inverter ECM depends on the part number of the ECM.

Use 568-6487 for tractors equipped with Generator ECM 368-5104

Use 569-4012 for tractors equipped with Generator ECM 491-6842

Use 550-5914 for all Implement Control ECMs

In additions to the parts list in this publication, other parts are required that vary with the screed serial number. Consult the following publications for a complete list of parts required.

SE50 VS/N:J9700100-00374

Follow special instruction , M0099943 to update the SE50V screed.

Note: The screed plates will need to be dropped for the older group of screeds, but can remain installed for the newer, higher serial number screeds.

SE50 VTS/N:B8600100-00135 / ; S/N:J6K00001-00254

Follow special instruction , M0101905 to update the SE50VT screed.

Note: The screed plates will need to be dropped for the older group of screeds, but can remain installed for the newer, higher serial number screeds.

SE60 VS/N:JJ300001-00756

Follow special instruction , M0098949 to update the SE60V screed.

Note: The screed plates will need to be dropped for the older group of screeds, but can remain installed for the newer, higher serial number screeds.

SE60 V XWS/N:JS900001-00221

Follow special instruction , M0101523 to update the SE60V XW screed.

Note: The screed plates will need to be dropped for the older group of screeds, but can remain installed for the newer, higher serial number screeds.

SE60 VT XWS/N:E9900001-00146 / ; S/N:TLW00001-00286

Follow special instruction , M0103287 to update the SE60VT XW screed.

Note: The screed plates will need to be dropped for the older group of screeds, but can remain installed for the newer, higher serial number screeds.

In addition to the parts specified in the special instructions above, screeds configured with heated end-gates will need the end-gate heaters replaced.

When servicing the screeds, follow all service literature, including special instructions , REHS9161 for proper connector torque and the use of lock wire.
