Description Of Change: New machine software groups are now used on the machines listed above. The new software updates will improve the functions of the transmission, chassis, payload, and secondary display.

Adaptable To: The following changes are adaptable to the machines within the listed serial numbers and are effective with all machines after the listed serial numbers.

Transmission Software: 560-2839 Monitor Software Gp

Note: Software update requires service tool Cat ^® Electronic Technician (Cat ET) Service tool release 2018B v1.0 or later.

This software contains the following improvements and enhancements:

• Added production support for 730, 730 Ejector, and 735 machine models.

• Updated fault code for "Hoist Assist Enable Switch" from 1990 to 5995.

• Updated "Starter Control Relay" logic to ensure temporary loss of shift/hoist lever signal does not prevent engine cranking

• Updated service manual icon on primary display to be driven by diagnostics on all machine ECMs

• Added support for "Diff Lock" icon on primary display when "Traction Control" is operated in manual mode

• Updated machine status feature to no longer consider "Waiting Brake" status, such that "Idle Fuel" calculations match previous machine models

• Added "Automatic Retarder Control" (ARC) "Grade Mode" configuration within Cat ET. Grade mode defines the length of grade that the system will assume for selecting appropriate gear and speed.

Note: New "Automatic Retarder Control" (ARC) "Grade Mode" configuration will default to "Short". "Short" will allow ARC equipped machines to run at higher speeds on sites with shorter grades. For operation on sites with longer grades this configuration should be set to "Long" to reduce risk of high brake temperature events. Operation with previous versions of software was equivalent to the "Long" setting.

• Updated Transmission tuning for 740 and 745 models

• Added logic to enable retarder during braking events whilst brake oil temperatures are high

• Improved "Automatic Retarder Control" tuning during transition from converter to direct drive

• Improved "Automatic Retarder Control" behavior after a heavy brake scenario

• Improved "Lock Up Clutch" behavior during manual retarding and heavy brake scenarios

• Updated "Coasting Level" configuration to include "OFF" option and store through key cycle

• Updated "Coasting Level" logic for empty machine

Chassis Software: 560-2841 Machine Software Gp

Note: Software update requires service tool Cat ^® Electronic Technician (Cat ET) Service tool release 2018A v1.0. Software may be able to install using Cat ET Service tool release 2018B v1.0, but not all feature may be available. Use release 2018A v1.0 for full functionality.

This software contains the following improvements and enhancements:

• Added production support for 730, 730 Ejector, and 735 machine models

• Added support for "Differential Lock Icon" on primary display when "Traction Control" is operated in manual mode

• Improved tuning for upper power train protect feature

• Improved payload estimator data storage through key cycle

• Improved fault handling logic for "Inertial Measurement Unit" faults

• Improved support for detection and communication of heavy brake scenarios

• Improved roll angle calculation logic

• Improved "Traction Control Solenoid" fault handling

• Improved tuning for "Terrain Based Throttle" feature
