5 mm (0.20 inch) silicone bead around the entire floor plate
(1) 359-6832 Floor Mat

Ensure that both surfaces are clean prior to applying silicone

Apply a 5 mm (0.20 inch) bead of silicone around the joint where the floor plate and the cab meet. The silicones that are to be used is a Momentive Performace material RTV-108, Dow Corning Silastic 732 RTV, or Loctite RTV silicone. These silicones should all be clear. Applying this silicone will seal out any further moisture from saturating the floor mat.

To apply silicone, remove the cab, seat, heater and air conditioner group, and floor mat. Replace the soaked floor mat with a new floor mat. Before installing the cab, clean both the cab and floor plate mounting surfaces. Apply a 5 mm (0.20 inch) wide bead of silicone to the floor plate where the cab rests. Refer to Illustration 1. Install the heater and air conditioner group, seat, and cab along with all the cab mounting hardware and torque. Once the cab is torqued, wipe down any excess silicone that has protruded from the sealing joint.
