Fuel and Auxiliary Water Pump Drive - Remove and Install

Start By:

  1. Remove the fuel pump. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Fuel Pump (Manifold) - Remove and Install".

  2. Remove the auxiliary water pump. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Auxiliary Water Pump - Remove".

  1. Attach Tooling (A) and a suitable lifting device onto housing (1). The weight of housing (1) is approximately 23 kg (50 lb). Remove bolts (2). Remove housing (1).

  2. Remove O-ring seals (3) from housing (1).

  3. Use Tooling (B) and a suitable press to remove bearing (4) from housing (1).

  4. Remove the fuel and auxiliary water pump drive gear (5).

  5. Remove bolts (6). Remove adapter (7).

  6. Remove O-ring seals (8) and (9).

  7. Use Tooling (B) and a suitable press to remove bearing (10) from adapter (7).

  1. Use Tooling (B) and a suitable press to install bearing (10) into adapter (7).

    Note: Check the O-ring seals for wear or for damage. If necessary, replace the O-ring seals.

  2. Install O-ring seals (8) and (9).

  3. Install adapter (7). Install bolts (6).

  4. Install the fuel and auxiliary water pump drive gear (5).

  5. Use Tooling (B) and a suitable press to install bearing (4) into housing (1).

    Note: Check the O-ring seals for wear or for damage. If necessary, replace the O-ring seals.

  6. Install O-ring seals (3) into housing (1).

  7. Attach Tooling (A) and a suitable lifting device onto housing (1). The weight of housing (1) is approximately 23 kg (50 lb). Position housing (1). Install bolts (2).

End By:

  1. Install the auxiliary water pump. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Auxiliary Water Pump - Install".

  2. Install the fuel pump. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Fuel Pump (Manifold) - Remove and Install".
