Brake - Calibrate

Usage:

CW-16 N6J

Diesel engine exhaust contains products of combustion which may cause personal injury.

Always start and operate the engine in a well ventilated area, and, if in an enclosed area, vent the exhaust to the outside.


Introduction

A brake pedal sensor controls the flow of hydraulic oil to the brake assemblies. Perform this procedure to calibrate the brake pedal if the brake pedal or the ECM has been replaced.

  1. Connect Tool (B2) and Tool (B3) to Tool (B1).

  2. Connect Tool (B2) to the USB port of Tool (A).

Machine Preparation

  1. Drive the machine to a smooth, horizontal surface.

  2. Move propel lever (1) to the NEUTRAL position.

  3. Move parking brake switch (2) to the ON position.

  4. After the engine has operated at low idle for 5 minutes, move engine start switch (3) to the OFF position.

  5. Remove diagnostic port access cover (4).

  6. Connect Tool (B3) to diagnostic connector (5).

Calibration Procedure

  1. Move engine start switch (3) into the ON position. Do not start the engine.

  2. Launch the Plus+1TM program on the computer.

    Note: First-time users need to perform the tasks in the Communication and Connections Wizard. This wizard allows the WindowsR operating system to recognize the USB device. Follow the on-screen instructions.

  3. Read and understand the instructions in the "1" section.

  4. Click the "Folder" icon (6) on the menu bar or click "Folder" icon (7) under "Open Diagnostics" file.

  5. Select the proper diagnostic file for the machine.

  6. Click the "Open" button.

  7. Clear any Active Codes (10).

  8. Under"Available ECMs" (8), select "Machine Control" (9).

  9. Under "Machine Control" (12), select "Propel" (13).

  10. Click "Target Calibration" icon (11).

  11. Select "Brake Pedal" (14).

  12. Read and understand the warnings. Click "OK" (15).

  13. Follow screen instructions (16).

  14. Click "Next" button (17).

  16. Click "Next" button (19).

  17. Follow screen instructions (20). Fully depress the brake pedal for a minimum of 5 seconds and then fully release the brake pedal.

    Note: The "Next" button will disappear and then reappear.

  18. Click "Next" button (21).

  19. Allow the values for "Low Calibration Current" (22) and "High Calibration Current" (23) to register.

  20. Click "Done" (24).

  21. Move engine start switch (3) to the OFF position.

  22. Remove the tooling from diagnostic port (5).

  23. Install diagnostic port access cover (4).
