Lower Radiator Hose

Usage:

ENGINES3208 (30A) GENERATOR SET ENGINES

Problem:

The 4P-7618 Hose (lower radiator) in the attachment 4P-7613 Radiator Group may be to short on some of these engines that were built between November 1998 and February 8, 1999. The short lower radiator hose may contact the fan belts on engines equipped with three or four belt alternator pulley systems. See the illustration. This contact may result in a damaged radiator hose that could allow a coolant leak. The coolant leak could result in engine damage.

Solution:

Check the lower radiator hose on 3208 (30A) Generator Set built between November 1998 and February 8, 1999 and equipped with the attachment 4P-7613 Radiator Group. If there is evidence of contact between the 4P-7618 Hose (lower radiator) and the fan belt, install a new 4P-7618 Hose. Effective with 3208 (30A7328-Up) Generator Set Engines the 4P-7618 Hose (lower radiator) is the correct length.
