Usage:
Problem:
Due to the routing of the battery cables behind the fuel filter on the way to the starter connection posts, the cables are rubbing on the front engine support and eventually wearing enough of the insulation away to electrically short against the frame.
Solution:
To alleviate this problem, the cable must be rerouted from behind the filter and the "P" clip retaining the cables on top of the radiator support rails needs relocated. Drill a 7/16 inch diameter hole as is shown in the above illustration. Use one 9B-7237 Bolt, two 8T-4896 Washers, and one 6V-8801 Nut to install the old "P" clip into the hole. Route the cables away from any contact with the rail or the support. Repair any damage to the insulation by using 1P-0818 Electrical Tape and/or fabricate a split hose to protect the cable.
