Problem:
There have been reports of 135-9851 Oxygen Sensor Adapter Ring being installed upside down. If the adapter ring is installed incorrectly, water can become trapped in the Oxygen Sensor hole during start up. This can result in a cracked Oxygen Sensor heating element. This requires that the Oxygen Sensor be replaced. SOLUTION:
Solution:
Formerly, the Oxygen Sensor Adapter Ring was stamped "THIS SIDE UP" on the top sealing face of the ring. Now, the 135-9851 Oxygen Sensor Adapter Ring is stamped with an arrow and "UP" on each side of the hole where the Oxygen Sensor is installed. See the illustration. This allows confirmation that the adapter ring is correctly oriented after installation.
