Introduction

This Special Instruction includes the procedure to install 457-7565 Cover Kit (Hydraulic Cap Door) on certain machines to cover the hydraulic oil fill neck.

1. Remove lock washer (11) and nut (12) from the latch assembly.

2. Install latch assembly (1) onto cover assembly (4).

3. Secure back lock washer (11) and nut (12). Tighten nut (12) to a torque of 15 ± 3 N·m (11 ± 2.2 lb ft).

   Before assembling the latch assembly (1), apply Loctite 243 to threads of latch assembly (1).

4. Position gasket (3) and plate (5) on the inner wall of cover assembly (4).

5. Install gasket (3) and plate (5) with cover assembly (4) with two screws (10), washers (9) and locknuts (6). Tighten two screws to torque of 6 ± 1 N·m (4.4 ± 0.7 lb ft).

6. Remove hex bolt (13) from latch assembly (1).

7. Install pawl (2) onto latch assembly (1) with hex bolt (13). Tighten hex bolt (13) to a torque of 6 ± 1 N·m (4.4 ± 0.7 lb ft).

8. Position kit-cover (14) with hinge so that holes are aligning.

9. Install kit-cover (14) with hinge with bolt (8) and locknut (7). Tighten locknut (7) to a torque of 15 ± 3 N·m (11 ± 2 lb ft).

10. To close the hydraulic cap cover, turn latch assembly (1) knob horizontally.

11. To open the hydraulic cap cover, turn latch assembly (1) knob vertically.
