Transmission Lockout Switch (6)

The transmission lockout disables the transmission while the engine is running. This operation prevents machine movement while taking fluid samples. Maintenance can be done without machine movement. The lockout and LED are controlled by the transmission ECM, which requires the machine electrical power to be on.

Switch Position - LOCK

Illustration 3g02886456
Transmission lockout switch shown in LOCK position.

Transmission Lockout - Lock - Move transmission lockout switch (5) to the LOCK position by turning counter-clockwise to disable operation of the transmission. The LED will be illuminated when the transmission lockout switch is in the LOCK position. Secure the switch in the LOCK position by installing a padlock through the holes at the left-hand side of the switch.

Switch Position - UNLOCK

Engine Lockout - Lock - Move engine lockout switch (6) to the LOCK position by turning counter-clockwise. Secure the engine lockout switch in the LOCK position by installing a padlock through the holes at the left-hand side of the switch. Place the engine lockout switch in the LOCK position to disable the engine starting circuit.

The engine lockout switch removes the ability of the engine start switch to start the engine. This lockout is wired electrically. The lockout is not controlled by an ECM. An LED is located near the engine lockout switch. This LED illuminates when the engine lockout switch has disabled the engine starting circuit.

Engine Lockout - Unlock - Remove the padlock that was installed to secure the engine lockout switch in the LOCK position. Move engine lockout switch (6) to the UNLOCK position by turning clockwise.

This procedure will give the engine the ability to start using the engine start switch.

Battery Disconnect Switch (8)

Operation of the battery disconnect switch is described in a separate section of this manual. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Battery Disconnect Switch" for detailed information.

Powered Stairway Control Switch (9) (if equipped)

Operation of the powered stairway control switch (if equipped) is described in a separate section of this manual. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Stairway (Powered) Operation" for detailed information.

Service Light Switch (10) (if equipped)

Service Light Switch - This switch (if equipped) controls the operation of service lights at various locations around the machine. This switch in the service center works with a second switch to control the service lights. The second service light switch is located in the right-hand control panel in the cab.

Either position of either switch will cause the service lights to be on, or off, depending on the current position of the other switch. If the service lights are off, move the switch to the alternate position to turn on the service lights. If the service lights are on, move the switch to the alternate position to turn off the lights. The service lights may be turned on at the service center and then turned off in the cab. The service lights may be turned off at the service center after having been turned on in the cab.

Stairway Access Light Switch (11)

Stairway Access Light Switch - This switch in the service center works with a second switch to control the stairway access light. The second stairway access light switch is located in the right-hand control panel in the cab.

Either position of either switch will cause the stairway access light to be on or off depending on the current position of the other switch. If the stairway access light is off, move the switch to the alternate position to turn on the stairway access light. If the stairway access light is on, move the switch to the alternate position to turn off the light. The stairway access light may be turned on at the service center and then turned off in the cab. The stairway access light may be turned off at the service center after having been turned on in the cab.

Note: The engine start switch does not need to be in the ON position for the stairway access light to have power to operate.

Engine Shutdown Switch (12)

This switch functions by shutting off the fuel supply to the engine.

Fuel System OFF - Raise the switch guard and move the toggle switch upward to the OFF position.

Fuel System ON - Move the toggle switch downward to activate the fuel system. The toggle switch is also moved downward automatically when the switch guard is lowered.

Note: The engine will not shut off immediately. The fuel in the engine and the lines must first be exhausted before the engine will stop.

Fast Fill Service Panel (2)

Your machine is equipped with fast fill ports that are used to transfer various machine fluids between this machine and service equipment. You may drain fluids through these ports or you may add fluids through these ports.

Open service center access door (4) to make connections with fast fill ports and ecology drains that are located in the fast fill service panel.
