Removal Procedure

Start By:

1. Remove inlet module (catalyst).

1. Put Identification Mark (A) across clamp assembly (1), diesel particulate filter (3), and outlet assembly (4). Identification Mark (A) is for assembly purposes.

2. Put Identification Mark (B) on the diesel particulate filter (3) for installation purposes. Identification Mark (B) is showing the flow of exhaust gases through diesel particulate filter (3).

3. Disconnect clamp assembly (1) and clamp assembly (2). Separate diesel particulate filter (3) from outlet assembly (4). Remove diesel particulate filter (3).

Note: Do not allow any objects to contact the internal element of diesel particulate filter (3). Do not bump or shake the filter assembly.

Installation Procedure

1. Install diesel particulate filter (3) in the reverse order of removal.

   1. Install new clamp assembly (1). Torque the new clamp assemblies (1) to a torque of 60 ± 5 N·m (44 ± 4lb ft). Do not use power tools in order to tighten clamp assemblies (1).

   2. Tighten clamp (2) to a torque of 15 ± 3 N·m (133 ± 27 lb in).

   3. Reset the engine ash model. Refer to Special Instructions , REHS5026.
