Removal Procedure

Fuel leaked or spilled onto hot surfaces or electrical components can cause a fire. Turn the disconnect switch OFF when draining and/or removing any fuel system components.

1. Remove panel (1).

2. Cut cable straps (4). Disconnect harness assembly (3). Remove solenoid valve assembly (2).

   Note: Cleanliness is an important factor. Before the disassembly procedure, clean the exterior of the component thoroughly. This action will help to prevent dirt from entering the internal mechanism.

3. Remove nut (9), washer (8), and solenoid (7) from valve assembly (2).

4. Remove cartridge assembly (6) and remove O-ring seals (5).

Installation Procedure

1. Install solenoid valve (2) in the reverse order of removal.

   1. Tighten cartridge assembly (6) to a torque of 50 ± 5 N·m (37 ± 4 lb ft).

   2. Tighten nut (9) to a torque of 20 ± 2.5 N·m (177 ± 22 lb in).
