Diverter Valve (Secondary Steering) - Remove

Usage:

R3000H RCM

Removal Procedure

Start By:

  1. Install the steering frame lock. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Steering Frame Lock - Remove and Install".

  2. Release the pressure in the hydraulic system. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "System Pressure - Release".

Note: Cleanliness is an important factor. Before the removal procedure, thoroughly clean the exterior of the component. Thoroughly cleaning the exterior of the component will help to prevent dirt from entering the internal mechanism.

Note: Put identification marks on all lines, on all hoses, on all wires and on all tubes for installation purposes. Plug all lines, all hoses, and all tubes in order to prevent fluid loss and contaminants from entering the system.

  1. Drain the hydraulic tank into a suitable container for storage or disposal. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Capacities (Refill)" for the capacity of the hydraulic tank. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Hydraulic System Oil - Change" for the proper draining procedure.

  2. Disconnect hose assembly (2) from secondary steering diverter valve (1).

  3. Disconnect hose assembly (3) from secondary steering diverter valve (1).

  4. Loosen four hose clamps (4). Remove elbow (6) from secondary steering diverter valve (1).

  5. Disconnect hose assembly (5).

  6. Disconnect hose assemblies (7) and (10) from secondary steering diverter valve (1).

  7. Disconnect electrical harness (8).

  8. Attach a suitable lifting device to secondary steering diverter valve (1). The weight of the secondary steering diverter valve (1) is approximately 44 kg (97 lb).

  9. Remove three bolts (9), the washer, and the spacers.

    Note: Identify the three spacers for assembly purposes.
