Installation Procedure

Note: Check the O-ring seals, the gaskets, and the seals for wear or for damage. Replace the components, if necessary.

1. Install STIC steering pilot valve (8), lever (9) and the lockout assembly.

2. Apply Tooling (A) to the threads of the bolts. Install the bolts, bracket (11) and three nuts (10).

3. Connect hose assemblies (4), (5), (6) and (7).

4. Loosen two locknuts (12). With the STIC steering pilot valve in the center position, adjust plate (13) in order to engage the mechanical lockout. Tighten locknuts (12). Operate lever (9) to lock and unlock the mechanical lockout assembly and check for a smooth operation.

5. Check the adjustment for the STIC control lock limit switch. Refer to Troubleshooting, Testing and Adjusting, "Limit Switch (STIC Control Lock) - Check and Adjust".

6. Connect electrical connectors (2) (not shown) and (3).

7. Fill the hydraulic tank with oil to the correct level. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Hydraulic System Oil Level - Check".

8. Adjust the steering deadband. Refer to Troubleshooting, Testing and Adjusting, "STIC Control (Steering Deadband) - Adjust".

9. Install cover (1).
