Note: Check the O-ring seals, the gaskets, and the seals for wear of for damage. Replace the Components if necessary.

Note: Prior to installing a new or rebuilt brake accumulator, remove all the air from the nitrogen chamber of the accumulator. Refer to Systems Operation Testing and Adjusting, "Brake Accumulator - Test and Charge".

    Typical example

  1. Install Tooling (A), Tooling (B), and a suitable lifting device to brake accumulator (4). The weight of brake accumulator (4) is approximately 38 kg (84 lb).

  2. Install brake accumulator (4).

  3. Install bolt (5) and the nut to clamp (6).

  4. Connect hose assembly (7).

  5. Charge the brake accumulator. Refer to Systems Operation, Testing and Adjusting, "Brake Accumulator - Test and Charge".

  6. Install guard (3) and two bolts (2).

  7. Install cover (1).

  8. Purge the air from the braking system. Refer to Systems Operation, Testing and Adjusting, "Braking System Air - Purge".

  9. Fill the hydraulic tank with oil to the correct level. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Hydraulic System Oil Level - Check".

End By:

  1. Remove the steering frame lock. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Steering Frame Lock - Remove and Install".
