MID 082 - CID 2223 - FMI 13

Usage:

12M 2 F9B
Conditions Which Generate This Code:

This diagnostic code is associated with the auxiliary valve 7 port B solenoid (attachment). The FMI 13 diagnostic code is activated when the Implement ECM detects that the solenoid needs calibration. The Implement ECM communicates this condition to the Implement ECM over the J1939 data link and the Implement ECM will activate this diagnostic code.

Note: Before performing this procedure, verify that no other active CID 2223 diagnostic codes exist for the solenoid. If any other diagnostic codes are active for the solenoid, correct the problem before performing this procedure.

Test Step 1. CALIBRATION

  1. Perform the calibration procedure for the solenoid. Refer to Testing and Adjusting, "Calibration" section of this manual for the correct calibration procedure.

Expected Result:

The calibration procedure was performed successfully.

Results:

  • YES - The calibration procedure was performed successfully. Resume normal machine operationSTOP

  • NO - The calibration was not successful.

Repair: Repeat the calibration procedure for the solenoid. If the second calibration procedure is not successful, replace the solenoid. After solenoid replacement, refer to Testing and Adjusting, "Calibration" section of this manual for the correct calibration procedure. If the problem is still present after replacement and calibration of the new solenoid, the ECM may have failed.Prior to replacing an ECM, always contact the Technical Communicator at your dealer for possible consultation with Caterpillar. This consultation may greatly reduce repair time. If the cause of the diagnostic code is not found, replace the Implement ECM. Refer to Testing and Adjusting, "Electronic Control Module (ECM) - Replace".
