Realignment of The Air Conditioner Compressor Pulley on 793F, 795F and 797F Off-Highway Trucks{1802}

Usage:

795F AC ERM
Off-Highway Truck/Tractor:
793F (S/N: SND1-UP; SSP1-UP)
795F Series AC (S/N: ERM1-UP)
797F (S/N: LAJ1-UP; WSP1-UP)

Introduction

Do not perform any procedure that is outlined in this Special Instruction until the entire instruction has been read and understood.

The belt for the air conditioner (AC) compressor will be damaged if the pulleys are not aligned. Use this Special Instruction to ensure proper alignment of the pulleys.

Inspection

    Wear pattern is centered on tensioner, no further action is needed.

    Wear pattern is not centered on tensioner, action is needed.

  1. Remove the AC belt guard and inspect the wear pattern of the belt on the tensioner.

  1. If the belt wear pattern is off-center to either side, use the alignment pins to align the compressor.

( 1 ) Use this tool with the 339-7920-02 Support , which has 13 mm clearance holes.
( 2 ) Use this tool with the 339-7920-00 Support , the 339-7920-01 Support and the 339-7920-03 Support which have 14 mm clearance holes.

Note: Using the wrong aligning wrench with the support can cause misalignment of the support.

  1. Thread the alignment wrenches into the front holes on front housing. Tighten the wrenches with the M10 wrench.

  1. Place the AC compressor and bracket onto the alignment wrenches.

  1. Thread the two rear bolts in place by hand.

  1. Torque the two rear bolts to the standard torque.

  1. Use the M10 wrench to remove the two alignment wrenches.

  1. Thread the two front bolts in place by hand.

  1. Torque the two front bolts to the standard torque.
