Rear view (1) Converter outlet temperature (2) Converter outlet pressure |
Note: In order to ensure accurate measurements, the converter oil temperature should be 190 ± 10° F, and the transmission should be in NEUTRAL.
(1) Maximum converter outlet temperature ... 250° F
(2) Converter outlet pressure
- Minimum converter outlet pressure with the engine speed at 2000 rpm ... 173 kPa (25 psi)
- Maximum converter outlet pressure with the engine speed at the governed speed with no load ... 483 kPa (70 psi)

Note: The clutch must be activated in order to test the clutch pressure, and the engine speed at 2000 rpm.
(3) Third speed clutch pressure ... 1380 ± 140 kPa (200 ± 20 psi)
(4) Forward ... 1380 ± 140 kPa (200 ± 20 psi)
Note: Never use the service brakes when you record the clutch pressure.
Note: All of the clutch pressures must be equal within 34.5 kPa (5 psi).
(5) Clutch pressure
- Minimum clutch pressure with the engine speed at 600 rpm ... 1240 kPa (180 psi)
- Maximum clutch pressure with the engine speed at 2200 rpm ... 1517 kPa (220 psi)
(6) First speed clutch pressure ... 1380 ± 140 kPa (200 ± 20 psi)
(7) Reverse clutch pressure ... 1380 ± 140 kPa (200 ± 20 psi)
(8) Second speed clutch pressure ... 1380 ± 140 kPa (200 ± 20 psi)
