- Articulated Truck:
- 735 (S/N: AWR1-UP; B1N1-UP)
- 740 (S/N: AXM1-UP; B1P1-UP)
- 740 EJECTOR (S/N: AZZ1-UP; B1R1-UP)
Description of Change: A new pivot bearing (3) and bellows seal (1) are used for the front suspension on the above listed machines. The new bearing offers improved service life.
Adaptable To: The new 341-0966 Bearing is a direct replacement for the previous 233-9954 Bearing. The bearing has a quad path for lube in the bearing which improves lubrication. The O-ring seal (4) replaces the gasket that was made of a compound that was being used previously.
Note: The grease point on the bellows seal is not intended to be a service point. The grease point is used to fill the upper cavity of the bearing with lubricant during initial assembly only. The new bearing is adaptable to the following machines:
- 735 (S/N: AWR1-UP; B1N1-958)
- 740 (S/N: AXM1-UP; B1P1-2708)
- 740 EJECTOR (S/N: AZZ1-UP; B1R1-359)

Design of the path for lubrication in the new bearing |
- To fill bellows seal (1), pump grease through the standard grease point. The standard grease point will fill the cavity on the underside of the pin. This will lubricate the bearing.
- Continue to pump grease until a resistance in pressure is noticed on the grease gun. Do not try to add more grease.
- Remove the grease gun from the standard grease point.
- Install the grease gun to the grease point on bellows seal (1) .
Note: The grease gun will need to be held firmly on the grease point. The grease gun will not lock on the grease point.
- Fill bellows seal (1) until the bellows seal is full. Grease will exit from the relief's on the top of the seal at this time.
Note: Bellows seal (1) is clear. The grease will be visible inside the seal cavity.
