Cooling System Pressure Relief Valve - Remove and Install

Usage:

785D DMC

Removal Procedure

Start By:

  1. Remove the front hood. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Hood - Remove and Install".

------ WARNING! ------

Personal injury can result from hot coolant, steam and alkali.

At operating temperature, engine coolant is hot and under pressure. The radiator and all lines to heaters or the engine contain hot coolant or steam. Any contact can cause severe burns.

Remove filler cap slowly to relieve pressure only when engine is stopped and radiator cap is cool enough to touch with your bare hand.

Cooling System Conditioner contains alkali. Avoid contact with skin and eyes.



NOTICE

Keep all parts clean from contaminants.

Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.

  1. Remove bolts (1). Remove relief valve cover (2) and gasket (3).

  2. Remove pressure relief valve (4).

  3. Remove plate (5) and gasket (6).

Installation Procedure


NOTICE

Keep all parts clean from contaminants.

Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.

  1. Install pressure relief valve (4) into relief valve cover (2).

  2. Install plate (5) and gasket (3) onto pressure relief valve (4) and relief valve cover (2).

  3. Install relief valve cover (2) and gasket (6). Install bolts (1).

End By:

  1. Install the front hood. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Hood - Remove and Install".
