Start By:

  1. Install the wheel chocks.

Follow the recommended procedure for removal and installation of tires and or wheel assemblies.

Ensure that the machine and tire and or wheel assembly are properly supported at all times.

Improper procedures that are used to remove and install tires and or wheel assemblies can result in personal injury or death.

Servicing and changing tires and rims can be dangerous. This work must be done only by trained personnel with correct tools and procedures. If correct procedures are not followed while servicing tires and rims, the assemblies can burst with explosive force and cause serious physical injury or death. Follow carefully the specification information provided by your tire servicing person or dealer.



NOTICE

Keep all parts clean from contaminants.

Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.

    For Tooling (A)

  1. Use Tooling (A) to raise the front chassis until the weight of the truck is off the front tires and rims.

  2. Use Tooling (A1) to raise the front chassis until the weight of the truck is off the front tires and rims. Refer to Tool Operating Manual, NEHS1334, "Lift Stands (150 Ton)" for more information on Tooling (A1).

  3. Use Tooling (B) to remove nuts (2). Do not remove three flange nuts (3).

  4. Use a suitable tire handler to support tire and rim (1). The weight of tire and rim (1) is approximately 3007 kg (6630 lb). Use Tooling (B) to remove three flange nuts (3).

  5. Remove tire and rim (1).

  1. Use a suitable tire handler to position tire and rim (1). The weight of tire and rim (1) is approximately 3007 kg (6630 lb).

    Note: Ensure that the valve stem is facing outward.

  2. Use Tooling (B) to install three flange nuts (3). Tighten flange nuts (3) to a torque of 1150 ± 150 N·m (849 ± 111 lb ft).

  3. Use Tooling (B) to install nuts (2). Tighten nuts (2) to a torque of 1150 ± 150 N·m (849 ± 111 lb ft).

  4. Lower Tooling (A) until the weight of the machine is on the front tires and rims. Remove Tooling (A).

  5. Lower Tooling (A1) until the weight of the machine is on the front tires and rims. Remove Tooling (A1). Refer to Tool Operating Manual, NEHS1334, "Lift Stands (150 Ton)" for more information on Tooling (A1).

End By:

  1. Remove the wheel chocks.
