  1. Raise the temperature of bearing cone (49).

  2. Use Tooling (J) in order to install bearing cone (49) onto shaft (37).

  3. Install bearing cup (47).

  4. Install spacer (48).

  5. Install bearing cup (45).

  6. Raise the temperature of bearing cone (46).

  7. Install bearing cone (46).

  8. Install shim (44).

  9. Use Tooling (C) in order to install retaining ring (45).

  10. Raise the temperature of the housing.

  11. Lower the temperature of shaft (37).

  12. Install shaft (37), lip seal (38), and shim (36).

  13. Use Tooling (A) in order to install retaining ring (35).

  14. Use Tooling (F), Tooling (H), Tooling (M), Tooling (G), and Tooling (L) in order to pull the shaft into the housing.

  15. Install piston (41), plate (42), and bolts (40).

  16. Install Tooling (K) into barrel (32).

  17. Install barrel (32) onto piston (41).

  18. Install piston (30) and pin (29).

  19. Install port plate (28).

  20. Install head (3) and bolts (2).

  21. Remove bolts (2) and head (3).

  22. Remove barrel (32) onto piston (41).

  23. Measure the Dimension (Z).

  24. Dimension (Z) minus the lift-off dimension 0.32 ± 0.07 mm (0.013 ± 0.003 inch) equals the shim thickness.

  25. Remove bolts (40) and plate (42).

  26. Install pistons (39) and plate (42).

  27. Apply Tooling (N) to bolts (40).

  28. Install bolts (40). Tighten bolts (40) to a torque of 38 ± 4 N·m (28 ± 3 lb ft).

  29. Install spring (33) into piston (41).

  30. Install shim (34) into barrel (32).

  31. Install barrel (32) and O-ring seal (31).

  32. Install the O-ring seals, plug (25), plug (22), and plug (23).

  33. Install valve (24) and bolts (21). Tighten bolts (21) to a torque of 75 N·m (55 lb ft).

  34. Install O-ring seal (17), pin (12), nut (13), solenoid (14), nut (20), bushing (18), piston (19), dowel (10), spring (15), retainer (16), spring (7), retainer (9), spring (8), and bushing (11).

  35. Install O-ring seals (6).

    ------ WARNING! ------

    Improper assembly of parts that are spring loaded can cause bodily injury.

    To prevent possible injury, follow the established assembly procedure and wear protective equipment.


  36. Install valve assembly (5) and bolts (4). Tighten bolts (4) to a torque of 75 N·m (55 lb ft).

  37. Install head (3) and bolts (2). Tighten bolts (2) to a torque of 87 N·m (64 lb ft).

End By:

  1. Install the track drive motor. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Track Drive Motor - Install".
