Oil Filter and Base (Rear Axle Lubrication) - Assemble

Assembly Procedure


NOTICE

Keep all parts clean from contaminants.

Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.


Note: Inspect the O-ring seals. If necessary, replace the O-ring seals.

Note: Lubricate the O-ring seals lightly with the lubricant that is being sealed.

    ------ WARNING! ------

    Improper assembly of parts that are spring loaded can cause bodily injury.

    To prevent possible injury, follow the established assembly procedure and wear protective equipment.


  1. Install spring (6), spring (5), spool (4), and plug (3). Tighten plug (3) to a torque of 85 ± 10 N·m (63 ± 7 lb ft).

  2. Install O-ring seal (2). Install element assembly (1).

End By:

  1. Install the rear axle oil filter. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Oil Filter and Base (Rear Axle Lubrication) - Install".
