Tighten the terminal nut to the following torque. ... 4.5 ± .5 N·m (40 ± 5 lb in)

(2) Terminal "D+"

Tighten the terminal nut to the following torque. ... 4.5 ± .5 N·m (40 ± 5 lb in)

(3) Terminal "B+"

Tighten the terminal nut to the following torque. ... 10 ± 1 N·m (88 ± 8 lb in)

Removal Procedure

1. Turn battery disconnect switch (1) to the OFF position.

2. Release the tension on belt tensioner (3) in order to position belt (2) out of the way.

3. Disconnect cable assembly (6) . Disconnect harness assemblies (5) . Remove bolt (4) and (7) . Remove alternator (8) .

Installation Procedure

1. Install alternator (8) in the reverse order of removal.

   1. Tighten bolts (4) and (7) to a torque of 22 N·m (16 lb ft).

   2. Tighten the nuts for harness assemblies (5) to a torque of 4.5 ± 0.5 N·m (39.8 ± 4.4 lb in).

   3. Tighten the nut for cable assembly (6) to a torque of 10 ± 1 N·m (88 ± 8 lb in).
