Exhaust Elbow (Dry)

Usage:

Remove & Install Exhaust Elbow (Dry)

Start By:

a. remove turbochargers

NOTE: The later model turbochargers use a dry exhaust elbow as a replacement for the formerly used water cooled exhaust elbows.

1. Install tooling (A) and a hoist to the top of exhaust elbow.

2. Remove nine bolts (3) and exhaust elbow (2). The weight of the exhaust elbow is 48 kg (102 lb).

3. Remove the lines attached to the support bracket (4).

4. Attach a hoist and tooling (A) to the support bracket. Remove the bolts that hold the support bracket to the engine and the support bracket (4). The weight of the support bracket is 117 kg (257 lb).

NOTE: Installation of the exhaust elbow shutoff is accomplished in the exact reverse order from removal.
