Fuel System - Fill

Usage:

CD-54 J5R

Personal injury or death may result from failure to adhere to the following procedures.

Fuel leaked or spilled onto hot surfaces or electrical components can cause a fire.

Clean up all leaked or spilled fuel. Do not smoke while working on the fuel system.

Turn the disconnect switch OFF or disconnect the battery when changing fuel filters.

NOTICE

Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the machine. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.

Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.

  1. Turn the machine to the right as the machine is parked in order to avoid a crushing hazard.

  1. Turn the engine start switch to the OFF position and remove the engine start switch key.

  1. Engage the front service lock valve.

    Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Service Lock" for information on the service lock valves.

  1. Clean the filler cap and the surrounding area.

  1. Remove the filler cap.

  1. Fill the fuel tank with fuel.

  1. Install the filler cap.

  1. Disengage the front service lock valve.

Note: Prime the fuel system. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Fuel System - Prime" for more information.
