CD54 Paving Compactor Caterpillar

Work Tool Operation

Usage:

CD-54 J5R

Chipspreader (If Equipped)

Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Operator Controls" for the location and operation of the controls associated with the chip spreader.

While you operate the machine and the work tool slowly in an open area, check for proper operation of all controls and all protective devices on the machine and the chipspreader.

Note: During initial operation, unexpected motion may occur due to air in the hydraulic system. Cycle the hydraulic system approximately 5 times in order to purge air out of the circuit. You may need to add hydraulic oil to the machine after the machine fills the hydraulic circuits of the chipspreader. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Hydraulic System Oil Level - Check" for the proper procedure for checking the hydraulic oil level.

Quick Disconnects

Illustration 1g01470721

The top quick disconnect (1) returns flow of the hydraulic fluid from the chipspreader to the machine hydraulic system. The middle quick disconnect (2) sends flow from the machine hydraulic system to the chipspreader. The bottom quick disconnect (3) is a motor case drain.
