New Hubs in the Output Transfer Gear Are Now Used {3159}
- Articulated Truck:
- 735 (S/N: B1N1-UP; AWR1-UP)
- 740 (S/N: AXM1-UP; B1P1-UP)
- 740 EJECTOR (S/N: B1R1-UP; AZZ1-UP)
Description of Change: The new hub (2) has an improved surface finish that will help prevent the hub from wearing into the brass spacer (4).

The former 148-9444 Hub has been cancelled and replaced by the new 299-4250 Hub. This change is effective with the following machines.
- 735 (S/N: B1N907-UP)
- 740 (S/N: B1P2466-UP)
- 740 EJECTOR (S/N: B1R336-UP)
- Change the oil for the transfer gear and replace the filter.
- Immediately take an S·O·S sample of the levels of brass contamination and other particulate contamination in the oil system for the transfer gear as a baseline for a future test.
- Operate the machine as normal and take a fresh S·O·S sample after 500 service Hours.
- If the copper level has risen by 50 ppm since the test in order to establish a baseline for the copper level, then remove the output transfer gear in order to replace the 148-9444 Hub with the new 299-4250 Hub .
Note: Be sure to clean the chamfers on the pin holes for the planetary gears in carrier assembly (3) at this time in order to remove any burrs or sharp edges.
