Conditions Which Generate This Code:

The data for the valve calibration is stored in the Grade Slope Control ECM. On power up, the display will upload the valve calibration data from the Grade Slope Control ECM. This will occur if the data that is stored in the display is incorrect.

Calibration data could not be restored from the Grade Slope Control ECM.

Test Step 1. CYCLE THE POWER TO THE SYSTEM

  1. Move the "Power/Setup" Switch for the AccuGrade - Grade Control System to the "OFF" position.

  1. Turn the key start switch for the machine to the "OFF" position.

  1. Turn the key start switch for the machine to the "ON" position.

  1. Move the "Power/Setup" Switch for the display to the "ON" position.

  1. Check the status of the diagnostic code "CB 33".

Expected Result:

The diagnostic code is not active.

Results:

  • YES - The diagnostic code is not active. Return the machine to normal operation.STOP

  • NO - The diagnostic code is active. Proceed to Test Step 2.

Test Step 2. RECALIBRATE THE VALVE

  1. Restart the procedure for the valve calibration. Refer to Systems Operation, Troubleshooting, Testing and Adjusting, "Bank Valve (Grade Control) - Calibrate"

Expected Result:

Recalibration causes the "CB 33 VM Fault" code to become inactive.

Results:

  • YES - Recalibration causes the "CB 33 VM Fault" code to become inactive. Check for any other active faults. Use the "Fault History" menu in order to check for faults. If other faults are active proceed to the appropriate diagnostic title in order to troubleshoot the fault condition. If no other faults are active, return the machine to normal operation. STOP

  • NO - Recalibration does not cause the "CB 33 VM Fault" code to become inactive.

    Repair: Contact your Technical communicator for a possible consultation with Caterpillar.

    STOP
