An improved starting motor is now available for the machine serial numbers that are listed above. Improvements have been made to the solenoid for the starting motor, the method of sealing the solenoid, and the drive housing.

Note: For 12 volt applications and 24 volt applications, refer to the part numbers for the solenoid in Table 1.

Method of Sealing the Solenoid

The method of sealing the solenoid has been improved in the following starting motors:

• 37MT

• 41MT

• 42MT

• 50MT

The date code (beginning) for the improved starting motors is "X07K01Y". This includes starting motors that were manufactured on 1October 2007 and later.

The date code represents the following:

07 - The year 2007

K - The month of October

01 - The first day of the month

Starting Motor Solenoid

A more rugged solenoid is used in the following starting motors.

• 37MT

• 41MT

• 42MT

The new solenoid improves the reliability of the starting motor. The date code (beginning) for the new solenoid is "M01JL06A". This includes starting motors that were manufactured on 1July 2006 and later.

The date code represents the following:

M - Manufacturing facility code

01 - The day of the month

JL - July

06 - The year 2006

A - Production cell and shift

Drive Housing

The 7T-3974 Drive Housing that is used in the following starting motors has been improved:

• 42MT

• 50MT

The new drive housing improves the reliability of the starting motor. The date code (beginning) for the improved drive housing is "05E01". This includes starting motors that were manufactured on 1May 2005 and later.

The date code represents the following:

05 - The year 2005

E - The month of May

01 - The first day of the month
