Use the following procedure in order to tighten the cylinder head bolts using Multiple-Spindle torque driver:
1. Before assembly, lubricate the bolts with clean engine oil.
2. Tighten the bolts (1) through bolt (26) in a numerical sequence to 160 ± 15 N.m (118 ± 11 lb ft).
3. Loosen the bolts (1) through bolt (26) in a numerical sequence to 0 N.m (0 lb in).
4. Tighten the bolts (1) through bolt (26) in a numerical sequence to 160 ± 15 N.m (118 ± 11 lb ft).
5. Turn the bolts (1) through bolt (26) in a numerical sequence to an angle of 90 degrees.
6. Repeat the steps 2 to 4.
7. Tighten the bolts (27) through bolt (31) to 28 ± 7 N.m (248 ± 62 lb in).

Use the following procedure in order to tighten the cylinder head bolts using hand torque wrench:
1. Before assembly, lubricate the bolts with clean engine oil.
2. Tighten the bolts (1) through bolt (26) in a numerical sequence to 160 ± 15 N.m (118 ± 11 lb ft).
3. Re-Tighten the bolts (1) through bolt (26) in a numerical sequence to 160 ± 15 N.m (118 ± 11 lb ft).
4. Turn the bolts (1) through bolt (26) in a numerical sequence to an angle of 90 degrees .
5. Repeat the steps 1 to 3.
6. Tighten the bolts (27) through bolt (31) to 28 ± 7 N.m (248 ± 62 lb in)
Apply 6V-6640 Sealant to the bores for the cup plug prior to assembly.
The cup plug is measured from the head face to the top edge of the plug. Depth of installation 1.5 ± 0.5 mm (0.06 ± 0.02 inch).
Height of new cylinder head 130 ± 0.15 mm (5 ± 0.006 inch).
The flatness of the cylinder head should be within 0.15 mm (0.006 inch). The flatness should also be a maximum of 0.05 mm (0.002 inch) for any 150.00 mm (5.906 inch) span.
