When the main power relay is energized, power is available at the vibrator circuit breaker and the propulsion circuit breaker. The vibrator circuit breaker provides power to contact "30" of the vibrator enable relay. The propulsion circuit breaker provides power to the operator station selector switch and the two operator station status indicators.
The machine ECM monitors the circuits at terminals "J2-30" and "J2- 31" in order to determine the position of the operator station selector switch. When the operator station selector switch is in the LEFT position, the circuit at terminal "J2-30" is complete. When the operator station selector switch is in the RIGHT position, the circuit at terminal "J2- 31" is complete.
The machine ECM analyzes the input from the operator station selector switch in order to control the number four operator station relay. The machine ECM also uses this input in order to control the operator station status indicators. The condition of the operator station relay determines whether the vibrator switch at the left operator control station or the vibrator switch at the right operator control station is active.
When the operator station selector switch is in the LEFT position, the machine ECM does not energize the coil of the number four operator station relay.
Under this condition, the machine ECM closes the circuit at terminal "J2-32", and the following actions occur:
- The left operator station status indicator illuminates.
- The screed vibrator switch at the left operator station is active.
When the operator station selector switch is in the RIGHT position, the machine ECM generates an output signal from terminal "J2-14" and an output signal from terminal "J2-33". The output signal from terminal "J2-14" is sent to the coil of the number four operator station relay. In this situation, the vibrator switch at the right operator control station is active. The output signal from terminal "J2-33" is sent to the right operator station status indicator.
The machine ECM monitors the operating conditions in order to determine if paving parameters are met. If paving parameters are met, the machine ECM starts an internal timer. After the duration of the timer has elapsed, the machine ECM generates an output signal from terminal "J2-3". This signal energizes the vibrator enable relay.
When the vibrator enable relay is energized, power is available at contact "2" of the screed vibrator switch which is at the right screed control station. If this switch is in the ON position, power transfers to the vibratory drive solenoid.
The ground path for the vibratory drive solenoid is across the number four operator station select relay and through the screed vibrator switch which is on the active instrument panel. If the screed vibrator switch on the active instrument panel is in the ON position, the ground path for the vibratory drive solenoid is complete.
