Description of Change: Two new features have been introduced.
The First New Feature adds transmission solenoid service modes. Submodes 51-56 have been added to Mode 8 to allow individual actuation of each of the transmission solenoids. These submodes allow a service technician to check pressures for each clutch without needing to place the transmission into gear.
The Second New Feature has been added for machines equipped with Command Control Steering (CCS). A change to the shift logic has been made to allow an upshift to occur when the upshift switch is pressed and while the machine is coasting downhill. The transmission control software has been designed to hold the current gear when a coasting condition is detected. This condition is met when the torque converter output speed is 20 percent above the engine speed. Previously, when the upshift switch was pressed while the machine was coasting, the upshift command would be ignored. This change allows the upshift switch to be read by the transmission Electronic Control Module (ECM) in order to allow an upshift to occur while the machine is coasting.
Adaptable To: The 244-5987 Power Train Software Gp has been introduced. This software is a direct replacement for previous transmission software used on 980GII machines.
Note: The 244-5987 Power Train Software Gp does not contain the First New Feature described above. The 244-5937 Power Train Software Gp has been introduced and is a direct replacement for previous transmission software used on 950GII-972GII machines and IT62G machines.
