Wheel and Tire (Rear) - Remove and Install

Follow the recommended procedure for removal and installation of tires and or wheel assemblies.

Ensure that the machine and tire and or wheel assembly are properly supported at all times.

Improper procedures that are used to remove and install tires and or wheel assemblies can result in personal injury or death.


  1. Install the frame lock pin. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Steering Frame Lock".

  2. Block the front wheels with Tooling (C).

    For Tooling (B).

  3. Use Tooling (B) (not shown) to raise the rear wheels off the ground. Install Tooling (A) under the case. Repeat this step for the opposite side.

  4. Use Tooling (B1) (not shown) to raise the rear wheels off the ground. Refer to Tool Operating Manual, NEHS1303, "Lift Group (Stand - 25 Ton)" for more information on Tooling (B1). Install Tooling (A) under the case. Repeat this step for the opposite side.

  5. Attach a suitable lifting device to wheel (1). The weight of wheel (1) is approximately 725 kg (1600 lb). Remove bolts (2) and wheel (1).

  1. Attach a suitable lifting device to wheel (1). The weight of wheel (1) is approximately 725 kg (1600 lb). Install wheel (1) and bolts (2). Tighten bolts (2) to a torque of 1455 ± 90 N·m (1073 ± 66 lb ft).

    For Tooling (B1)

  2. Use Tooling (B1) (not shown) to raise the rear wheels off the ground. Refer to Tool Operating Manual, NEHS1303, "Lift Group (Stand - 25 Ton)" for more information on Tooling (B1). Remove Tooling (A) under the case. Use Tooling (B1) to lower the rear wheels to the ground. Remove Tooling (B1). Repeat this step for the opposite side.

  3. Use Tooling (B) (not shown) to raise the rear wheels off the ground. Remove Tooling (A) under the case. Use Tooling (B) to lower the rear wheels to the ground. Remove Tooling (B). Repeat this step for the opposite side.
