Note: Cleanliness is an important factor. Before assembly, all parts should be thoroughly cleaned in cleaning fluid. Allow the parts to air dry. Wiping cloths or rags should not be used to dry parts. Lint may be deposited on the parts which may cause later trouble. Inspect all parts. If any parts are worn or damaged, use new parts for replacement.
- Install drive chain (10). The weight of drive chain (10) is approximately
56 kg (125 lb) .Show/hide tableIllustration 2 g01067205 Show/hide tableIllustration 3 g00925891 - Install Tooling (A) on drive chain (10). Install master link (8) so cotter pins (9) are toward the opposite chain. Install cotter pins (9) and remove Tooling (A).
Note: The links should not be in adjacent tooth spaces on the sprocket when the links pass on the center sprocket, or interference may result.
- Rotate wheel spindle (7) in order to bring master link (8) to an accessible place.

27 ± 7 N·m (20 ± 5 lb ft) . - Fill the tandem housing with oil. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Tandem Drive Oil - Change" for the correct procedure.
