Note: SERVICE DATA: TOOLING (ZZ) WILL NOT BE IDENTIFIED IN PHOTOGRAPHS IN THE REMOVAL OR THE INSTALLATION. THIS TOOLING IS SHOWN IN ORDER TO ASSIST THE EXPERIENCED SERVICEMAN.


NOTICE

Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.

Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Caterpillar Tools and Shop Products Guide" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Caterpillar products.

Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.

  1. Remove drain plug (1) and drain the fuel into a suitable container.

  1. Disconnect tube assemblies (2). Disconnect harness assembly (3). Remove bolts (4) and panels (5) .

  1. Install Tooling (A) under fuel tank (6). Remove bolts (7) on both sides of fuel tank (6). The weight of fuel tank (6) is approximately 64 kg (140 lb). Remove fuel tank (6) from the machine.
