Component Code: 0374

SUBJECT: EMCPII+ Wall-Mounted Panel Schematics

PROBLEM:

The 200-8977 Wiring Schematics (versions 00 through 03) show incorrect customer pin connections. On page 9 of the 200-8977 Wiring Schematics (versions 00 through 03), the following terminals for the Wall-Mounted EMCPII+ panel are labeled incorrectly:

  • Engine coolant level
  • Coolant temperature
  • Oil Pressure

Incorrect Customer Pin Connections

The 200-8977 Wiring Schematics (versions 00 through 03) incorrectly show the customer connections between the engine connector and the wall-mounted panel as follows:

  • Pin 38 to Terminal 33
  • Pin 39 to Terminal 34
  • Pin 40 to Terminal 36

Connecting the panel in this fashion can generate faults to be displayed in the control panel.

SOLUTION:

The 200-8977 (version 04) Wiring Schematic has been updated to show the correct terminal designation. Version 04 of the 200-8977 Wiring Schematic was released in April 2003.

Correct Customer Pin Connections

The 200-8977 Wiring Schematic (version 04) shows the correct customer connections between the engine connector and the wall-mounted panel as follows:

  • Pin 38 to Terminal 36
  • Pin 39 to Terminal 33
  • Pin 40 to Terminal 34

The 200-8977 Wiring Schematic (version 04 or higher) can be found on the Caterpillar XREF Program. The Caterpillar XREF Program can be found at the following URL:
