Mounting Holes for Accessories Inside the Cab

Remove the 111-7856 Cover (1) from the left ROPS and remove the 111-7858 Cover. The cover assemblies are attached to the panels on the tower with Velcro.

------ WARNING! ------

Do not install objects that extend from the B-post towards the operator more than 100 mm (4 inch). All installed accessories must not have sharp corners or protrusions. Injuries or a fatal accident may occur in the event of a rollover.

There are eight threaded holes at location (L5) on the left side inside the ROPS post. There are 4 threaded holes at location (L6) on the right inside ROPS post. The holes are all 8 mm (0.3 inch) in diameter. The holes are drilled into plates that are attached to the ROPS. The holes in the ROPS post do not bottom. Radios, mobile phones, or fans may be mounted with the holes. Install a bracket behind the ROPS post toward the rear of the cab in order to provide more clearance between the operator and the accessory.

Trim the covers of the cab carefully. Fit the covers in order to provide an acceptable appearance.

Note: The ROPS certification is voided if one of the following conditions has occurred.

  • Structural damage

  • an overturn

  • modifications

  • alteration

  • improper repair

Do not weld or drill holes on the ROPS. Consult a Caterpillar dealer. The dealer can determine a plan to mount all accessories without voiding the certification.
