Description of Change: The information for the ground speed readout of the Speedometer/Tachometer Module is incorrect as the information applies to large wheel loaders. The corrected information for the Speedometer/Tachometer Module follows.

Speedometer/Tachometer module (1) Tachometer (2) Pictograph symbol (3) Ground speed readout (off-highway trucks only) (4) Actual gear readout |
Tachometer (1) shows the engine speed in RPM. VIMS obtains this information from a frequency sensor input of the engine ECM via the CAT data link.
Actual gear readout (4) consists of two digits that show the actual gear of the transmission that is engaged. The left digit shows the actual gear that is selected, "1", "2", "3", etc. The right digit shows the direction that is selected, "F", "N" or "R". VIMS obtains this information from a frequency sensor input of the transmission ECM via the CAT data link.
Ground speed readout (3) consists of three digits that may be used in order to show the machine ground speed in MPH (km/h) (off-highway trucks only). Use the service program code "UN" to change the unit of measure (English or metric). VIMS calculates the ground speed by using information obtained from a frequency sensor input of the EPTCII control via the CAT data link.
